Rivals post strong start to first Innings against Guardian Saints

Rivals posted a strong start in their first innings against Guardian Saints with good knocks from the top order. When I arrived at the Sion Hill Playing Field on a beautiful Saturday afternoon Marvin Small and Hyron Shallow were in the process of taking apart the Saints bowlers and scoring at a brisk pace.

Shallow clips the ball through mid wicket.

Small narrowly misses edging to the wicketkeeper

Another well executed drive from Small

This time small hits hard and high for the maximum

Saints tried pace from Ray Charles bowling from the airport end with no success

Small plays an exquisite cover drive

A change of quick bowlers at the airport end produced no result.

Shallow was extremely hard on any loose balls

Shallow was eventually bowled for 45
After the departure of Shallow, Jeffery took over with lusty hitting and succumbed to a good catch on the boundary by Ray Charles for a quick 14

Small continued to punish the bowling.
