Rivals posted a strong start in their first innings against Guardian Saints with good knocks from the top order. When I arrived at the Sion Hill Playing Field on a beautiful Saturday afternoon Marvin Small and Hyron Shallow were in the process of taking apart the Saints bowlers and scoring at a brisk pace.
Shallow clips the ball through mid wicket. |
Small narrowly misses edging to the wicketkeeper |
Another well executed drive from Small |
This time small hits hard and high for the maximum |
Saints tried pace from Ray Charles bowling from the airport end with no success |
Small plays an exquisite cover drive |
A change of quick bowlers at the airport end produced no result. |
Shallow was extremely hard on any loose balls |
Shallow was eventually bowled for 45 |
After the departure of Shallow, Jeffery took over with lusty hitting and succumbed to a good catch on the boundary by Ray Charles for a quick 14 |
Small continued to punish the bowling. |
