Windward Islands Football Tournament Day1

The National Lotteries Authority Windward Islands Football Tournament kicked off at the Victoria Park in Kingstown on Sunday.
Following the tragic news of a fatal accident involving two members of the Dominica team that entailed the withdrawal of that team, St.Vincent has decided to fill the vacancy with a Presidents Eleven.
Game one of the double header started at 6:00pm between the Presidents Eleven and Grenada.

Grenada tries to gain possession from the presidents Eleven player.

The presidents Eleven opened the scoring with this goal from the penalty spot.

In the feature game of the evening, the senior St.Vincent team ranked 121 in the world were surprisingly defeated by St. Lucia ranked 152  2-0 in an exciting encounter.

Community Football from the Campden Park Playing Field

The rivalry continued between the adjoining towns of Layou and Barrouallie when they met in a football match in the Football Federation's Community Championships.  The game got underway after a late start and Layou scored first within the first 10 minutes of the game. Barrouallie did not get to equalise until early in the second half.
Here is some of the action.
